The 13th Annual Gene Doyle Backcountry Release Fishing Tournament was held April 23-25, 2010. This catch-and-release tournament is held annually to raise money for the Gene Doyle Adventure Scholarship.
The Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament is a backcountry catch and release tournament targeting Snook, Redfish (Red Drum) and Trout (Spotted Sea Trout).
Trophies are awarded for Grand Champion (greatest number of points) Largest Snook, Largest Redfish and Largest Trout in each of four divisions. Trophies are also awarded for the Tournament’s Most Unusual Catch, Best Photograph, Top Female Angler and Trash Can Slam. Anglers compete for 21 top prizes, including the Grand Champion honors. At right, Gene Doyle Memorial Anglers catch and release a nice snook.
